With Winter just around the corner we’re starting to think about the best ways to protect our immune systems whilst still managing to work a 10 hour day, go for post work drinks and do a box fit class at the weekend. We know its WAY corny but your health really is our mission (insert vomiting emoji). So this month we’re reminding you about the health benefits of our ingredients and how they can make a difference to your every day.
First up, blue algae. Now this is a bit of a weird one, namely because most of us don’t actually know what it is, so let’s start there. Blue algae comes from Spirulina (finally, familiar territory), it’s an amazing detoxifier and energy booster. We add it to our Recovery Lemonade as it is incredibly high in essential vitamins and minerals and also has a full spectrum of the 8 essential amino acids.
If you feel a hint of the lurgy coming on the first thing you should reach for is a large shot of cold pressed, organic ginger. The anti-inflammatory gingerols in gingerroot will help to relieve a sore throat quickly, and they also kill rhinoviruses, which cause colds in the first place.
Similarly, turmeric is wonderfully anti-inflammatory and will warm you up from the inside, much like ginger, and help keep those immune system responses firing.
Lastly, with the festive season nearly upon us and as the cocktail party invites begin to roll in there’s noting better than an activated charcoal lemonade on a Monday morning to help detoxify and cleanse the body.
